Producer Abirami Ramanathan spoke at the audio launch of Aaram Thinai directed by C Arun. The producer had something to address on releasing movies officially online.
"Today films come in Amazon prime within 15 days of their theatrical release. This is done officially by the producer and this is a very big hit for the theatre owners. Vijay might be a superstar today, but his first film was a small budget film and we theatre owners made Vijay as what he is today. Amazon cannot pool in the revenue for Baahubali as we theatre owners did. So I kindly request the producers to hold the Amazon release of a film at least for a month for us to profit."
A film's success lies in its impact on the audience, and this applies more so to a film with a social message. Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal fared well in the box office, and has now displayed true success - the star's fans in Pollachi have started providing vital services to the needy for free.
They are providing autos for school students and ambulances for the sick and injured. This noble deed by the youngsters involved is truly appreciable. All the best!
