The voice of 2 popular melodies in Uttama Villain

Apr 24, 2015
Singer Padmalatha Ramanand has been around for quite some time now and she has to her credit, more than 500 film songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Tulu. Most of these songs have been in Tamil, and she has sung about 10 popular numbers for hotshot composer Ghibran.

In the upcoming Kamal Haasan starrer Uttama Villain, the popular melody Kaadhalam Kadavul Mun and Mutharasan Kadhai have been rendered by Padmalatha, in both the Tamil and Telugu versions. She has also sung for Ghibran's other popular albums such as Kutti Puli, Naiyaandi, Thirumanam Enum Nikkah and Amara Kaaviyam.

In a quick chat with Behindwoods, Padmalatha adds

"SPB sir profusely praised me on stage for my rendition during the Telugu audio launch event of Uttama Villain at Hyderabad. I was called on stage and it was a great moment to launch the audio in the presence of so many stars and stalwarts such as Kamal sir, SPB sir, Shruti Haasan and Pooja Kumar. It was a very proud moment for me, indeed.

I have also sung the peppy title track in Indru Netru Naalai in Hiphop Aadhi music's, along with Shankar Mahadevan. Then in Orange Mittai, I have sung a lilting melody track with Naresh Iyer, in Justin Prabhakaran's music.

Apart from these, I am also working on an independent album where Bharathiyar's songs would be tuned in Hindustani style along with a jazz, pop musical arrangement. I am collaborating with my friend Sam.D.Raj for this album and it would be released online soon."
