Vatsan, who people might remember as the young romantic who tries to impress a pretty girl on the bus in Engeyum Eppodhum, didn’t have opportunities served on a platter. He struggled for years as an assistant director but couldn’t realize his dreams of becoming a director. He took it in his stride and sought acting roles and landed up with chances in Engeyum Eppodhum and Vathikuchi.

With a new found confidence he wrote and recorded a tribute song on his childhood hero, Ilayathalapathy Vijay. The track ‘Thalapathy Anthem’ found its way to Vijay’s ears who called upon Vatsan.

Vijay had gone a step further and even launched the album for Vatsan. Since then the superstar actor has been tracking the progress of the youngster and was visibly pleased to know that Vatsan had earned the lead role in a film titled ‘Apple Penne’ and sent his greetings through an autographed photo which read ‘Best Wishes Vatsan’.

Vatsan says that Vijay has been a huge pillar of strength for him and that the actor keeps reminding him about life by repeating his famous dialogue ‘Vazhka oru vattam da’, which is now engraved forever in his mind and soul.
