Sasikumar played a Rajini fan in the successful Sundarapandian and the response from the audience to his antics was encouraging. The director of the movie S.R. Prabhakaran recently said that Rajini had seen the movie, a week after its release. Rajini had later called up both Sasikumar and Prabhakaran and chatted with them in detail. The trio also had a meeting which lasted for about an hour. 

During the meet, Rajini talked about the script and Sasikumar's acting and had nice words to say. He felt happy that the movie portrayed a Rajini fan's life and the Superstar actually rooted for his fan in the movie and didn't wish to see him lose. In the climax scene particularly, Rajini fervently wished that nothing should harm Sasikumar. This overall acceptance from the Superstar has pleased the director to no end.
