A relatively low key religious group named Christhu Murthy Christian Democratic Party has raised objection on the content of Mani Ratnam’s latest release Kadal. The group claims that the filmmaker has been insensitive to their community and called the film ‘anti-Christian’.

Members of the group have filed a police complaint with the Commissioner of Police and have demanded that action be taken within a week. The religious outfit has called for a ban on the movie. Kadal revolves around two Christian understudies who have conflicting approaches towards life itself.

An official word is still awaited from Madras Talkies, the producers of the film. All said and done, the fear of the protestors, who enforced a ban on Vishwaroopam, setting a dangerous precedent for the future is becoming a reality.
