Chimbudevan – He is one of the under-rated movie directors in Tamil Cinema. He is one of the very few directors who have experimented a lot in his movies – Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi, Arai En 305-il Kadavul & Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam. He has tried historical, fantasy & cow body comedy movies, which are rare in Tamil Cinema. With OKMK, he has tried TIME CONCEPT Genre, which has not been tried much in Tamil Cinema. 12B was one such movie with similar genre, but didn’t succeed at the box office, as audience couldn’t understand it much. Let us see whether Chimbudevan manages to make the audience understand the time concept and succeed with this movie in Common Man Review.

Story: Each and every minute is very important in everyone’s life. Arulnithi, Bindhu & Bagavathi try to kidnap Ashritha. What happens if they have started at 8:59 AM, 9:00 AM & 09:01 AM forms the crux of the story. Movie is definitely inspired from “Run Lola Run” and director has to be applauded for accepting that the movie is inspired from “Andha Naal, Run Lola Run and Virumandi” during the end credits. Having said it, Chimbudevan has made sure that this movie is quite different from those ones with full of black comedy.

Arulnithi – He has been very selective in script selection and has acted in good scripts till now. He has yet again selected a unique script. He is improving a lot in each and every movie. He has given a subtle performance in this movie.

Bindhu Madhavi – She has been used to doing village based movies, with Saree as her costume in most of her movies. She has done urban role in this movie, wearing modern outfit (just one dress throughout the movie). She has got good characterization and appears throughout the movie.

Ashrita Shetty - She made a decent debut through Udhayam NH4 Movie. She doesn’t have much scope in this movie.

Bagavathi Perumal – He gave wonderful performance as “Bugs” in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom movie. He has almost played second hero role in this movie and has performed extremely well.

Delhi Ganesh, Nassar, Aadukalam Naren, Manobala, M.S. Bhaskar, V.S. Raghavan, etc have done the supporting actors role and have done complete justice to their roles as usual. There are lots of characters in the movie and director has utilized each one of them perfectly.

Music by Nataraj Shankaran was good. But, his BGM was awesome. Cinematography by Kathir was quite good.

Editing by Raja Mohammed had to be really appreciated as he has made sure that the movie is not confusing.

Director Chimbudevan – He makes a strong comeback to Tamil Cinema after almost 4 years. This is his best movie after Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi. He is one of the very few directors who try different genres in his movies. Time concept is very common in Hollywood Movies. But, it has been rarely tried in Tamil Cinema. 12B was one such attempt, but people couldn’t understand it much. He has given a TIME CONCEPT movie, mixed with Black Comedy and has made sure that audience doesn’t get confused with the script. Dialogues in the movie were bold & funny as his earlier movies.

On the other side, each & every scene is repeated thrice with different dialogues. When the scenes happen for the first time, it was interesting. When the scenes happen for the second time, it looks dragging and when it happens for the third time, it may test the patience of the common man. Hence, it may be liked only by the audience who likes to experience something new in Tamil Cinema.

Overall, OKMK is a new experience to TAMIL AUDIENCE and will be loved by people who want to watch something different.

Rating of this movie by Common Man – 2.5 / 5

Rating of this movie for people who liked NKPK, people who wants to see experimental movies such as Moodar Koodam, Neram etc & good movie lovers – 3.5 / 5
