Director Saravanan made a strong debut in Tamil Cinema with one of the engaging & realistic movies in Tamil Cinema – “Engeyum Eppothum”. Vikram Prabhu started his career with wonderful performance in “Kumki”. This Combo which gave HITS separately has joined together in their second movie to give a Commercial Action Movie.

Story: Ivanum Vera Mathiri Illa. It is Yet another Commercial Action Movie in which Common Man fights against the Minister, who creates issue in the society and later fight with the Villain one to one in the climax to save the heroine. First scene of the movie is inspired from true incident which happened in Law College & the whole movies revolves around that incident with slow paced screenplay in the first  half, engaging screenplay in the second half and a climax which may look good for few and melodramatic for few.

Vikram Prabhu – He gave an intense performance in Kumki as his characterization in the movie was superb. In this movie, he fits the role of Urban Youngster, but fails to impress in romantic scenes & songs. Director should have worked much more on his characterization.

Vamsi Krishna – He has good screen presence in the movie and has better characterization than the leading hero. He looks physically fit and has done a good job in this movie.

Surabhi – Delhi based actress makes her debut with usual ‘no brain Tamil Heroine’s role’. She looks pretty and has cute smile. She has acted well, but her characterization in the movie was too dumb.

Ganesh Venkatraman – He looks great as usual and comes in the movie for just 10-15 minutes in the movie and praises the hero with buildup dialogues in 2 scenes.

Music Director Sathya had given songs which were quite similar to “Engeyum Eppothum” (maybe that’s what Director asked for). His BGM in few scenes were quite good.

Scenes taken at huge building, Fight Scenes & Pre-climax portion were very well edited by Sreekar Prasad & greatly captured by Cinematographer Shakthi.

Stunt Scenes by Rajasekar add more value to this movie.

Director Saravanan – People expected a lot from the director who gave us wonderful movie such as “Engeyum Eppothum”. Indeed, even the movie was promoted as “From the Director of Engeyum Eppothum”. He has to be appreciated for getting inspired from real life incident and taking a movie yet again. Incident which happened in Law College were terrible and no one bothered much about it. He has taken only that incident as Story and has developed a screenplay, which we are seeing it for more than 20 years. First half of the movie moves at slow pace as the story can be written within 15 words. Second half of the movie engages to some extent and ends with the good pre-climax scenes & usual one to one fight in the climax.

Movie with average first half, engaging second half and climax which will have mixed reviews.

Rating of this movie by Common Man – 2.5 / 5
