Sura, Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay’s film is significant for many reasons. With this film, Vijay is reaching his half a century mark and it is momentous, more so in this age of competition from television, VCD and video piracy. With the tremendous fan base that the young actor is enjoying, every film of his has garnered huge expectations and they all have stood up to these anticipations. This time around, care is said to be taken to impress and satisfy not only Vijay’s fans but also the general audience. Another important factor is the time of Sura’s release which is the summer vacation. As children form a huge chunk of Vijay’s fan base, Sura is going to be a holiday bonanza too.

Vijay who has a natural penchant for humor would positively not disappoint his audience more so when he is going to team up with the comedy samrat Vadivelu. Vaigai Puyal’s comedy antics would be one of the highlights of Sura. In the department of dance, it is said that Vijay is completely satiated with the movements as he is one actor who is known for graceful, stylish and swift portrayal with his feet and hand.

Tamannah, the current hot property of Kollywood, looks good with any hero and she will be Vijay’s screen partner in Sura. In the promos that have been released, the duo looks the most hot and happening. Tamannah is also known for her agile and elegant dance moves and it is going to be a treat to watch Vijay-Tamannah on screen.

The director does not claim the storyline to be anything unique or never-seen-before stuff but at the same time he feels that it is going to score in the presentation segment. The premise of Sura will be a fishing hamlet where Vijay solves the problems of the inmates on a regular basis. It is being said that he has donned the role of a fisherman also but there is a suspense element associated with his character which has not been revealed so far. Tamannah, an educated girl lands in the kuppam and whether she is the daughter of the villain group is not known.

The music scored by Mani Sharma has already captivated the attention of the audience and the songs have also been shot in an aesthetic and in fast paced manner to suit Vijay’s image.

Sura is produced by Sangili Murugan and directed by S P Rajkumar. When there are many directors who were keen to do this milestone film of Ilaya Thalapathy, the opportunity has been handed over to Rajkumar who is only one film old. And surely Rajkumar should be having something special up his sleeve which would come to the fore this Friday.
