| Chandramukhi
the Rajni starrer is still running, crossing
the 700th day mark. This unique feat of
the film may break the record which was
created sixty years back by M K Thyagaraja
Bagavathar’s Haridas. In the annals
of Tamil cinema, Haridas had created a history
by recording a continuous run of 784 days
in a single theatre. The film was released
on a Diwali day in 1944 in Broadway theatre
in Chennai and continued its magical run
for 112 weeks.
Now Chandramukhi is racing up to reach this
accomplishment. The film which was released
on the 14th of April in 2005 is still going
strong. If it crosses the mark set by Haridas,
then it is sure going to rewrite history
of Tamil cinema. Sivaji Productions Ramkumar
is very optimistic and positive about Chandramukhi
breaking the Haridas mark. |
