Fighting among crocodiles
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
December 07, 2007
This is something novel. Though Thevar Films had done it before, scenes involving animals have not been attempted recently. Filmmakers blame it on the strict rules laid down by animal rights activists, while shooting scenes involving animals. In fact, some movies had to get the clearance of the Animal Welfare Board prior to release.
Karan

Even films like Rang De Basanti had to go through hell before seeing the light of day.

Hollywood does shoot films involving animals under the supervision of the animal welfare board officials, which leaves no room for controversy. In the Tamil film, Kathavarayan directed by Salangai Durai, starring Karan and newcomer Vithisha, a stunt scene between Karan and Amjad Khan was shot in the Alambady forest region. Incidentally, this region was once the domain of the forest brigand Veerappan. The crew has been canning the movie in these regions for the last 20 days. What makes this stunt scene unique is that it was shot in the midst of a crocodile farm, with live crocs around. However, support staffs were around to ensure safety of the unit. That should definitely be one stunt scene to look forward to.
