If
donning the role of legendary leader
Periyar for the movie has made Sathyaraj’s
dream come true, here is another reason
for him to rejoice. He has been selected
as the recipient of the Periyar Award
for 2006, to be conferred by the Tamil
Nadu Government.
The award, which is comprised of Rs. 1 lakh in
cash and a gold medal, will be bestowed upon Sathyaraj
during an official event slated to be held on
8 January at the Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Periyar is progressing at top speed
with Sathyaraj, Kushboo, and Jyothirmayi in the
lead and is expected to be released in mid 2007.
