Reacting to the Oscars…

Aamir Khan, reacting to a question about Taare Zameen Par’s entry into the Oscars in the foreign language group, said that he will try his best to do India proud. During the press meet he noted that just two Indian films – Mother India and Lagaan – have reached the Oscars final five nominations.

The star said that he has nothing against awards and ceremonies and would do his best to promote Indian films to a larger audience. Aamir added that he plans to hire the best publicist to organize TZPs screening in New York and Los Angeles to promote the film. He further acknowledged the fact that an Oscar for an Indian film means reaching out to the wider audience.
