TN government to return the fine amount

The Supreme Court has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to return the fine of Rs. 50 lakhs imposed on director Veeru Devgan. The TN government slapped a fine of Rs. 50 lakhs on Veeru Devgan in 2003 for the environmental pollution caused in Ooty while shooting for the film Raju Chacha. producer filed a case in the Chennai High Court which was dismissed. However, on appeal to the Supreme Court it was held that the fine imposed on Veeru Devgan should be returned.
