The DVD of the Tamil film 1999, directed
by Lenin M Sivam, was released by Ramesh
Chelladurai and received by the Norway-based
Sri Lankan Tamil poet Vaseegaran Sivalingam.
The release of the DVD was disclosed by
Sabesan Jayarajasingam, the chief producer
of the production house Karapanalaya.
1999 was showcased at the Vancouver Film
Festival where it was awarded for emerging
as one of the top 10 movies. At the Norway
Film Fest, 1999 received the Midnight
Sun award. The film was appreciated by
Nandita Das, Sasi Kumar and Jananathan
when it was screened at various film festivals.
The music for 1999 has been scored by
Raj and popular singers like SP Balasubramaniam,
Harini, Tippu and Karthik have rendered
the playback.
