What is in a name Mohanlal?

Saagar Alias Jacky, Red Chillies, Alexander The Great, Lollypop, Ringtone, Violet, Notebook – these are not any brand names or names of Hollywood movies. While Tamil movies are unenthusiastically adopting to the culture of naming films with Tamil titles to benefit from the tax sops announced by the Tamil Nadu government, Malayalam cinema has no such hang ups.

The above-mentioned names are the names of either

the recently released or movies under production. That is, however, not to say that people in Kerala are averse towards Malayalam names.
