Best debutant director award announced

The annual Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Awards for the Best Debut Director of the Year has been announced. This award was bagged by Paresh Mokashi for directing the Marathi film Harish Chandrachi Factory. Of the 19 nominations from across the country, this film was selected by the jury comprising Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, Kalayanaraman, and Gollapudi Maruthi Rao. The award ceremony is slated to be held on August 12th in Chennai. A cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakhs and a memento will be presented to the winner.

The award, it may be recalled, was instituted in memory of late Gollapudi Srinivasa Rao, who passed away in an accident while shooting his maiden venture.
