Chennai Warriors gift of joy to the city
March 07, 2009

A great day for the Chennai fans of Cinema as well Cricket who got to witness fabulous innings from the Kollywood and Tollywood stars during the Cricket Match at Chepauk Stadium today. True to a greater source of elation, the home team won. The Chennai Warriors clinched the victory title from the Tollywood stars of the Andhra Kings Team. 233 runs in 25 overs is the winning score of the Chennai Warriors where Vikranth one of the openers gave the much needed tempo for an inspirational start in addition to his

century. It certainly would have been a joy to watch the match between the tinsel stars going crazy to bring out their batting and bowling talents giving the spectators a double bonanza to watch. Coach Sankupani stands truly touched by the drive of our Tinsel stars to excel in the Cricket grounds though played on terms of friendship.Chinni Jayanth's commentary enunciated the fact that days of Cricket being played by Cine Stars as fund raisers had gone and the lovely spirit of playing it on friendship grounds has trotted in which is a healthy sign to be nurtured. He applauded this effort that was taken to show case our solidarity in voicing our concern for the Srilankan brethren in grief. The film fraternity present in good strength was also a booster for the cause as well as the onlookers.

The Chennai Warriors team included young stars like Arya, Silambarasan, Bharath, J.K. Riteesh, Jeeva, Shanthanu, etc with Vikranth and Jithan Ramesh as their openers. The century from Vikranth, half century from Jeeva and 3 wickets taken by Arya were the turning points of the Match to kiss victory.
