Actor Vijay incurred the wrath
of the lawyer community for his
remarks about them in his film Sivakasi.
Following this, several petitions
were filed in various magistrate
courts seeking action against the
actor, producer AM Rathinam, director
Perarasu and comedian MS Bhaskar.
This issue was taken up for hearing
at the High Court yesterday (July
16th).
On hearing both the parties to the
case, Justice Raghupathy asked the
complainants if a formal apology
from the defendants would suffice
to put an end to the issue. To this,
the advocate who represented that
lawyers’ community said that
Vijay, Perarasu and AM Rathinam
should present themselves before
the court and submit a written apology.
The case has been posted for hearing
next week when the final outcome
will be known.
