Protestors torch Rajini posters

The members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedika staged a demonstration and burnt Rajinikanth’s posters before the Film Chamber of Commerce in Bangalore a couple of days ago. They shouted slogans against the superstar and decried that this film Kuselan should not be released in the state. It may be

noted that Rajinikanth’s speech during the fast held by Tamil cine artistes against the Hokkenegal issue triggered a massive resentment among Kannadigas towards him. The officials at the film chamber of commerce received a memorandum from the demonstrators and pacified the crowd that they will look into the issue.

In a counter statement, the Karnataka Rajinikanth fans’ association secretary M.V. Venkatesh said that such protests are unwarranted as Rajinikanth is the son of the soil having great regard for the Kannadigas. He also added that the state Chief Minister Yedurappa must intervene and resolve the issue amicably.
