The
Union Health Minister, Dr. Anbumani
Ramadoss has warned that all films
containing smoking scenes will be
fined. Reasoning out his statement,
the minister said that shooting spots
are considered to be public places
as many people, like the director,
light boys, actors, actress etc.,
gather there. This comes under the
clause “smoking in public places”
which means it is an offense. Dr. Anbumani added that he would recommend the
Censor Board to clip such scenes. This is
applicable to television too, he clarified.
