actor and former Gladrags Mr India Ganesh Venkataraman
was the ideal choice as ‘Brand Ambassador’
for the Hyderabad Designer Week 2010 which happened
this week in Hyderabad. Since this is the first
time the fashion week has come to the city,
the expectations were very high.
Ganesh who has been part of super hit telugu
films’ Akashamantha’, ‘Eenadu’
and the crossover film ‘The Angrez’
was chosen as brand ambassador. He hosted the
event and also scorched the ramp as showstopper
for some of the creations. Designers from across
the country participated at the event.
Ganesh was showstopper for the grand finale
for Hyderabad based designer Ishita Singh on
day 2.
On the final day of the designer week, Ganesh
was showstopper for Kala Mandir- one of the
biggest retail chains and main sponsor of the
event. Looking elegant and royal, he scorched
the ramp in an off white sherwani with gold
detailing and stole the show.
Ganesh who recently won the award for “Best
Supporting Actor” for his film Unnaipol
Oruvan says – “I started my career
with modeling and then moved on to films. Though
films are my ultimate passion, the fashion industry
will always remain close to my heart. The designer
week is a great event to associate with and
when the organizers approached me to be their
brand ambassador I readily took it up. I had
earlier walked the ramp as showstopper for Sanjana
Jon at the Chennai Fashion Week as well. That
was a great experience too,” he signs
