Shoot schedules of Vilai, directed
by Kamaraj, are underway in and
around Chennai and parts of Madurai.
Vilai is inspired by a real life
story and tells the story of a prostitution
racket that kidnaps and sells women
against their will. The movie has
Barani and Udayathara in the lead
roles with Saravanan playing a significant
character. Rest of the cast includes
Reethu, Shadika, Fatima and Banuchander.
Director Kamaraj recently shot a
totally un-choreographed fight sequence
for the film under the supervision
of stunt master Rajasekhar. Barani
and a few stunt technicians were
minorly injured in the skirmish
but the director was elated after
watching the rushes since the sequence
turned out well. Vilai will be released
in February 2010.
