Rajinikanth, during his acceptance
speech at the awards ceremony that
was held on December 8th 2009, said
that it was a very happy event for
him not just because he was given
the best actor award but for the
opportunity to hand over the best
dialogue writer award to the Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi
along with Kamal Haasan.
The Super Star said that such an
opportunity eluded Sivaji Ganesan
and MG Ramachandran, but he and
Kamal were destined for it.
The star lauded the CM’s civility
in sending a message that he would
be late for the function as he was
not well and required to rest.
