The city civil court in Chennai
issued an order to make a public
proclamation before Bala’s
home and office for failing to file
a counter for the allegations made
against him. Tamil Nadu Handicapped
Welfare Association’s secretary
filed a petition at the court alleging
that Bala depicted the handicapped
people in poor light in his film
Naan Kadavul and sought a stay for
the film.
This issue was taken up by the
court, but the defendants (Bala)
failed to file a counter to the
petition. Following this, the court
ordered to notify him through a
public proclamation.
Bala filed a petition at the High
Court challenging this order and
seeking a stay order. On taking
up this issue, the High Court issued
an interim stay order against the
public proclamation till the 7th
of September. |
