The director, in his statement, also said
that he did not receive any show cause notice
from any associations in this regard, which
is usually the practice. "This protest
has come as a bolt out of the blue and I
was taken aback by that," Vasu added.
Vadivelu's character was portrayed in this
movie as a fraudulent barber and there are
even scenes of him receiving warning from
the cops for his behavior.
"I have always portrayed a profession
with due respect and dignity in all my movies
and Kuselan is no exception. Pasupathy's
character in the movie is a brilliant example
for self-respect and dignity and the entire
movie revolves around his self-esteem. I
am puzzled with the behavior of such people
and deeply wounded," Vasu mentioned
in his statement.
