attention, the makers decided to go for the release
of single-track album of same song. Following the
huge success of ‘Evandi Unna Pethan’ (Vaanam),
this is the second time Yuvan’s single-track
album is launched.
Song: Vilayaadu Mankatha
Lyrics: Gangai Amaran, Yuvan Shankar
Raja, Sucharita
Singers: Anitha, Premgi Amaren, Ranjith,
Suchitra, Yuvan Shankar Raja and others
The prelude on distorted guitars in blend with brass
instrumentals itself invigorates the senses while
pumping bass intensifies the song. The song takes
off with Anitha’s sassy voice (slightly based
on the style of ‘Sei Yedhavadhu Sei’ from
Billa) followed by Ranjith. The first four lines with
the rhyming words had already grabbed everyone’s
attention with the teasers. Gangai Amaran’s
lyrics boast of attributes of a club song, but on
pars has some message-oriented lines, which is evident
through Buddhi Enbadhae Sakthi Enbadhai Katrrukollada
En Nanba, Bhakthi Enbadhai Thozhilil Vaithu Vaa, Niththam
Vetrithaan En Anba. Yuvan has tried adding western
feel with English rap lines. The song is medium paced
yet sounds stylish. Thanks to the sound engineer for
a perfect mixing of so many instrumentals and voices.
Verdict:
Exclusively for Thala fans
