KANDEN BHARATH AND TAMANNAH

If the Kanden Kadhalai show itself was a treat, meeting the film’s leading stars – Bharath and Tamannah – turned out to be a special occasion for the winners of the Behindwood’s Kanden Kadhalai Celebrate Love Contest. The show began at 6 pm at the AVM Preview Theatre in Chennai. The movie turned out to be a great entertainer and for those who had watched the Bollywood version Jab We Met, it was a surprise as Kanden Kadhalai surpassed all their expectations.

As promised before the show, producer G Dhananjayan of Moser Baer India, director R Kannan and Tamannah walked in sharp at 8:30 pm. Bharath, was just a couple of minutes late but duly apologized for it. The session began with Mr. Inian of Behindwoods, welcoming Mr. Dhananjayan, Mr. Kannan, Ms. Tamannah and Mr. Bharath with bouquets.

It was highly evident that Mr. Dhananjayan was eager to know the audiences’ reaction and rightly so, the audience applauded the efforts put in by the Kanden Kadhalai team. The curious producer queried the audience on what they felt about the music, camera and all the other technical aspects of the film. Having given a complete entertainer like Kanden Kadhalai, Mr. Dhananjayan captured the hearts of the audience when he stated that it was his intention to give such clean entertainers as he had two daughters at home who would be watching his films.

The session that followed was highly interactive with the producer, director and actors answering a volley of questions. Bharath said that he expects to do such ‘cutey’ roles in future and agreed with the audience that such roles would take him to the A and B centers. The actor jocularly remarked that he would do away with roles that required him to don a dark complexion. He also rued that people meeting him expected him to be dark but were surprised to note that he is fair complexioned. On a query about how it was to work on a remake, Bharath said that while he watched Jab We Met around 100 times Tamannah saw it about 150 times. He also admitted that it was inevitable that there would be traces of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor to which the audience responded in negative. On a request from the audience, Bharath sang the song Suthudhu Suthudhu Indhaaru.

Though, Tamannah for the most part spoke in English, the lady captivated the audience by singing a two liner of Ododipore. Her cute way of saying “Tamil konjam konjam theriyum” assures Kollywood would soon get a heroine who could dub her own voice.

The evening ended with all the winners of the contest having them photographed with Bharath and Tamannah. The actors also obliged the autograph seekers with a congenial smile.
