According to reports, group admins of Facebook and WhatsApp have been pronounced liable for prosecution if any rumor or fake news is circulated on it. The announcement was made on Thursday in a joint statement issued by the District Magistrate of Varanasi and Superintendent of Police. Notably, Varanasi is the Lok Sabha constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
