A petition has reportedly been filed by Advocate G.S. Mani in the Madras High Court seeking inquiry into Anitha's death. According to media reports, the petition stated that no permission for protests should be granted to maintain law and order in the city. The petition also mentioned that the education syllabus of the matriculation and state board will be changed to the level of CBSE schools.
