Sony files patent for a wireless charging technology

According to reports, Japanese tech giant Sony has filed a patent for a technology that will let users wirelessly charge their device from another device using Near Field Communication technology. Sony said the method will apply to “portable consumer electronic devices”. In this method, a device searches for nearby antennas that could help power it, just as it searches for available Wi-Fi hotspots.
