Thanjavur Medical College Police station inspector C Sethumanimadhavan was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment by a fast track mahila court for abetting suicide. Reportedly, Akilandeswari, 32-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging after the policeman picked her from Thanjavur bus stand in a police vehicle and made her stay in a lodge. He had registered a case against the woman in a job racket case in 2007, say reports.
