NITI Aayog on Tuesday announced that over 13,000 villages had been electrified so far out of a total of 18,452. Notably, the data was revealed in the rural electrification programme meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting also reported that renewable generation had increased by 24.5 percent in the last fiscal year.
