Kerala declares Internet access as a basic human right

Kerala has reportedly become the first state in India to declare the access to Internet as a basic human right. According to reports, the state has announced, in its annual budget, that around 20 lakh poor families would be provided with free internet connectivity, while others would get the access at a subsidised price. Notably, Kerala is also the most literate state in India.
