Right to privacy row: SC reserves judgement

The Supreme Court on Wednesday reportedly reserved judgement over the issue of the right to privacy as a fundamental right. The Centre had, on July 26, told the nine-judge constitution bench that there is a right to privacy, but is a ‘wholly qualified right’. Notably, the government can interfere in matters that come under ‘wholly qualified right’, while the absolute right cannot be reduced and amended.
