According to an NDTV report, PM Modi's government will begin amassing a warehouse of virtual information collected from social media sites along with traditional sources like banks, starting next month. People familiar with the matter reportedly said the Centre looks to match residents’ spending patterns with income declarations. They reportedly said officials would be able to identify tax evaders without raiding offices and homes.
