Centre to cut LPG subsidy from March 2018

According to reports, the Centre has decided to cut the subsidy for cooking gas from March 2018. Reports also stated that the government has ordered state-run oil companies to raise subsidised cooking gas (LPG) prices by Rs 4 per cylinder every month. Reportedly, there are as many as 18.11 crore customers of subsidised LPG in the country, including 2.5 crore poor women who were given free connections during the last one year under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna.
