The Centre on Monday launched BharatQR, a quick response code-based payment solution, to allow cashless payments without a card swiping machine. Jointly developed by MasterCard, Visa and Rupay, BharatQR is currently integrated into ICICI Bank’s Pockets app and HDFC Bank’s PayZapp. A customer will scan the BharatQR code to pay directly to a merchant, say reports.
