According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh Police have rescued an 8-year-old girl, believed to have lived with a troop of monkeys for a while now, from the in the Motipur range of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. A police sub-inspector spotted and rescued her two months ago during a routine patrol, despite resistance from her and the monkey troop, say reports. The girl “eats and walks like animals, and runs away on seeing humans”, said doctors. Reportedly, she can neither speak nor write. While she is being taught to walk, she frequently uses her hands and legs to get around. She gets scared by humans and often gets violent, the doctors reportedly said.
