Condemning the Supreme Court’s order to release water to Tamil Nadu, Pro-Kannada activists associated with Karnataka Rakshana Vedike reportedly staged a protest demonstration at Ambedkar circle in Raichur, shouting slogans against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and burning tyres. In another incident in Hubballi, members of the Kalasa Banduri Horata Samanvaya Samiti and Pro-Kannada organisations staged a demonstration in front of the statue of freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna by blindfolding themselves in a gesture to symbolise what they alleged “blind justice” delivered to the people of Karnataka.
