Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir have reportedly been exempted by the Centre from mentioning Aadhaar number in income tax return forms and PAN applications. According to reports, the government has also exempted NRIs, foreigners and citizens above 80 years of age from the mandatory quoting of Aadhaar number.
