Amerun Khatun, an eight-year-old girl, was allegedly tortured to death after she entered a private orchard to collect mangoes. The incident took place at a village in Bihar’s Araria district bordering Nepal on Sunday. The girl was found dead with several cut marks near a well adjoining the orchard after she went missing earlier on the eve of Eid. Her father, Ibrahim Safi, said there were several cut marks on her body and she was subjected to electric shock as well. The body was sent for post-mortem.
