More than 100 buildings in Purasawalkam are without the no-objection certificate and licence to operate from the fire safety department, say reports. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority portal lists buildings lacking mandatory safety documents to operate.The list includes Suntex City mall, where three shops were gutted in a fire on Saturday. The planning authority, in October 2016, issued a caution notice to nearly 2,450 buildings in Chennai Metropolitan Area which do not have the NOC and licence to operate.
