INSPECTOR DAWOOD IBRAHIM MOVIE REVIEW CLICK TO RATE THE MOVIE

The word 'idi' means 'a punch' and the movie IDI is the story of Inspector Dawood Ibrahim, a bold and fearless cop. It is an action comedy directed by debutante Sajid Yahiya. Sajid himself has done the scripting of IDI along with Arouz Irfan. Dawood Ibrahim, his deep dream to become a Police Officer and the hurdles he faces after becoming one forms the crux of the movie.

Marketed as a mass entertainer, IDI has many mass scenes that keep the audience engaged. The action sequences match the standards set by the celebrated masala movies from other industries in South India. The director has done a decent job but the screenplay fails to captivate the audience. The identity of each character lacks clarity and this reflects on the movie. The extra effort to create a new pattern ensures that nothing but confusion prevails. Predictability haunts the screenplay and weakens the otherwise watchable masala film.
 

Jayasurya's commanding looks when added to his confidence results in Dawood Ibrahim becoming a delight. The actor easily portrays the young stylish Police Officer and is a treat for the mass audience. Sshivada has done a fine job within her limited screen space. The humour handled by Joju George, Sunil Sugatha and Molly Kannammali succeeds to tickle the audience.
 

The Cinematography of Sujith Sarang is admirable. The action sequences and the hilarious comedies have delivered what the movie demanded. Rahul Raj's splendid music and trendy background score is the backbone of the movie. 

On a whole, IDI is technically good with all elements for a mass movie, but let down by a weak story and its predictable screenplay.
