the global level. He need not prove his ability now
or anymore. Below are just a couple of examples.
Nayagan
was chosen as one of the “All time Best 100
Movies” in the world by Time Magazine. The list
was released in 2005. The panelists considered movies
which are released since 1923. Does it not show that
Kamal was already part of taking Tamil cinema to a
global level? Of course the credit goes to Director
Mani Ratnam, Ilayaraja and the whole team but at the
same time we cannot ignore the pivotal role played
by Kamal for the success of Nayagan.
It is known to everybody that India is submitting
a movie every year to Academy Awards (Oscars) in the
“Best Foreign Language Film” Category.
It is Kamal who is the hero of most number of films
which are submitted by India for the Academy Awards.
Those movies are Nayagan, Devar Magan, Kurudipunal,
Indian and Hey Ram.
Does it not show that Kamal has contributed significantly
in taking not just Tamil Cinema but Indian Cinema
to a global level? Kamal has already proved why he
is Ulaga Naayagan but he is yet to get worldwide recognition.

Kamal planned Marudanayagam and Marmayogi targeting
global audience. But unfortunately due to financial
constraints those movies did not take off. He is a
man who always thinks dreams and acts for cinema.
(He can talk cinema, walk cinema, laugh cinema) He
lives for cinema. He is the most versatile actor in
Indian Cinema. All he need is some financial support.
When he gets that, the whole world will see his movies,
recognize him, appreciate him and will call him as
Ulaga Naayagan.
