Pathinaaru
is an upcoming movie which has Shiva,
Madhu Shalini and Abhishek donning important
roles. Directed by D Sabapathy and produced
by A Sivashankar, Pathinaaru's music has
been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It
is not a surprise that Yuvan's albums
generate curiosity when it is released
and so has Pathinaaru. We will review
how pleasing the album is!

Ada Da En Meethu...
Vocals: Hariharan, Bella Shinde
Lyrics: Karthik Netha
Bella Shinde's voice stands out in the initial moments
of the song which has a techno touch to it but settles
down to a wonderfully soothing rhythm. Hariharan is
a perfect choice for this song as he and Bella weave
magic with Karthik Netha's lyrics. The flute interludes
are blissful. A fantastic song to start with!
Yaar Solli Kadhal...
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Snehan
Yuvan's deep voice works well again in Yaar solli
kadhal. Yuvan's trademark soul-blue genre is quite
eminent and begs to be different from his earlier
songs. The music is just apt for this song and is
pleasant to listen to. Though it is a bit lengthy,
the song is right up there among the best.
Kaattu Chedikku...
Vocals: Karthik Raja
Lyrics: Snehan
Karthik Raja gets a song with a more formal tune.
He displays a restricted rendering of the song which
has interesting sounds and orchestration. Yuvan has
displayed his skills wonderfully in this song and
the end product is quite pleasing to the ears. Another
song which adds to the charm of the album!
Vaanam
Namadhe...

Mahadevan
Lyrics: Snehan
Just a few seconds into the song and Shankar Mahadevan's
bold voice gives an insight into the song. Having
a philosophical outlook, Vaanam Namadhey has throbbing
music by Yuvan. Snehan shines in this song in many
places. 'Yaaro nadai potta disaiyil naam pogamal naam
pogum disai nalai vazhiyagalam' is testimony to this.
Inspiring song and a good listen!
Theme
Music...
Yuvan Shankar Raja
Yuvan's theme music sums up the album. It could be
just what the director wanted as someone of Yuvan's
caliber can deliver more pulsating music as a theme.
But just the right end to the album nonetheless!
Verdict:
Pathinaaru's music is youthful and lovely to the years.
The visuals may add more value to the song. But Yuvan
has delivered another hit album for sure. Lovely orchestrations,
right chords and soulful voices make Pathinaaru a
worthy album to have in your collection. Pathinaaru
is 'Sweet Sixteen'. |
