After his well-received solo lead films like Gurkha, Dharmaprabhu, and others, popular comedic actor Yogi Babu will be sporting the lead role in the upcoming film 'Cocktail'. 

Yogi Babu's Cocktail Lord Muruga first-look controversy, producer P.G. Muthiah issues statement

Directed by Vijayamurugan, the title and the film look of the film released yesterday, which had steered controversy, due to the depiction of the Hindu God Muruga with the bird Cockatoo instead of Peacock.

Bankrolled by PG Media Works, this film is touted to be centered around a Cockatoo bird, and hence the title.The makers addressed the controversies around it and issued an official statement, apologizing to the devotees whose feelings had been hurt.

"The picture was taken during a scene in the film in which Yogi Babu gets a dream of himself as Lord Muruga. We did not mean to degrade to Hindu god Lord Murugan" they added and informed that the posters of the first-look had already been printed and stuck in few places. "To all the Murugan devotees, a poster like this will not be used anymore for the film's promotions anymore" they stated.
