He is known for his performances in 'Enga Ooru Paatukukaran', 'Karagattakaran' (1989), 'Enga Ooru Kavalkaran' (1988) and 'Paatuku Naan Adimai' (1990), to name a few. Ramarajan has also directed nearly 10 films including'Mannukketha Ponnu' (1985), 'Amman Kovil Vaasalile' (1996) and 'Gopura Deepam' (1997), and most of them were village-based subjects.

As many rumours spread like wildfire regarding Ramarajan's health condition, the actor's PR released a statement noting that all is well with Ramarajan and asked people not to believe in such rumours.

"Some people have been spreading rumours about Ramarajan, who acted in Karagattakaran, which set box-office records and created history, and other films that have run for over 100 days, and created a distinct style for himself. Ramarajan is absolutely hale and healthy, so do not believe rumours. The reality is that he has now given his stories for two films and is also getting himself ready to act in two film. He is both physically and mentally strong at the moment. He will soon take part in the launch of a film that he is going to act in," read a press statement from the actor's PR.

It is to be noted that, last year, in September 2020, the actor-turned-politician had tested positive for COVID-19 and had got himself admitted in hospital. Since his infection was mild, he managed to make a successful recovery and returned home. Ramarajan was last seen in the film 'Medhai', which hit the theatres in 2012.
