Manimegalai married Hussain, an assistant dance choreographer, on 6 December 2017 against her parents wishes. She participated in Mr and Mrs Chinnathirai show with her husband and also in Cook with Comali, both in Star Vijay.
Recently, on Manimegalai's official handle, a video taken by her husband was posted. In the video, Hussain explains that as their cook was on leave, his wife Manimegalai tried to cook rice in a cooker and ended up blasting it. Hussain also shows their kitchen's current state after the misfortune, while Manimegalai is cleaning things up. None of them was hurt. This video won many hearts, and went viral on the internet.
Now, sharing another video, Manimegalai mentions: "Oru Guest ah naalu edathuku poga muditha! Ella edathulayum kelvi ketu ore avamaanama iruku! oru mattu mariyathai illa!
