Meanwhile, the central and state governments are taking serious measures to control the spread of the coronavirus. Domestic production has been increased to reduce oxygen shortage and the same is also being imported from abroad.

The number of people receiving treatment across the country has crossed 28.82 lakh. Infections are most prevalent in Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi. Beds in hospitals are overflowing. Shortage of oxygen cylinders has also been reported across the country, especially in places like Delhi.

Actor Vijay’s fans have, however, risen to the occasion and provided oxygen cylinders, masks and gloves to the doctors and other hospital staff of the Vriddhachalam Government Hospital. The pictures have gone viral on social media and earned kudos.

Vijay had just returned from Georgia where he had gone for a schedule of Thalapathy 65, directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures. Upon returning, he paid a visit to late actor Vivekh’s house to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
