April 15, 2020, was witness to the death of a legendary actor/writer Ranjit Chowdhry. The actor was quite a popular actor, who was even a part of the famous TV mockumentary "The Office" American series. He played the part of Vikram, a telemarketer who worked with Michael and was briefly hired for The Michael Scott Paper Company.

Ranjit made his debut with Khatta Meetha, a Basu Chatterjee directorial. He is quite famous for his roles in Hindi comedy movies such as Basu Chatterjee's Baton Baton Mein (1979) and Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Khubsoorat (1980).

His sister, popular actor/director Raell Padamsee shared the news of his demise on her Instagram page, and mentioned the funeral meet details. She informed, "For all those who knew Ranjit, the funeral will be held tomorrow and a gathering to celebrate his life n share his stories on May 5th. With love, Raell."

Apparently, the 64 year old actor was suffering from an ailment for the past several months and was admitted in a hospital owing to the same. However, he did not survive the surgery proceedure according to media reports.
